The new rooms...

Both of the kids rooms are finally complete. Paige has a few empty frames which look a bit silly but they will be filled soon! I have been begging Jay to take pictures of the nursery for months and since I am being induced tomorrow (CRAZY!!!!) I figured I really need to take those pictures before the room is a complete frenzy of diapers, dirty laundry and burp cloths! We moved Austin into the "office" and moved the twin bed that was in his room down to the basement. I set it up like a couch with like 10 pillows. It's pretty cozy and since we have a full bathroom down there it made perfect sense for when our moms come to stay. The nursery stayed the same color, a pale yellow, but I just added all the pink, so fun! Here's for the amazing part....I seriously probably did the whole nursery for less than $150. The crib was a Craigslist find, $40. The changing table was Austins but purchased at the Wee-Sale for $30. The bumper I found brand new at a yard sale for $5. The crib skirt I found at Goodwill for $1 and it's from Pottery Barn Kids! The wall letters I painted and added the paper to blank letters from Michaels. The canvases I painted myself and reused some old paintings I had from a few years back. The lampshade I bought at a church rummage sale for 25 cents and added the pink tassels. The quilt on the crib I made using all scraps of fabric I already had. The quilt on the bed was another great find: regularly $180 at Pottery Barn Kids but I got it on sale for $59!!! And my amazing mother-in-law bought it for Paige so I didn't spend any money on it. Finally the accent pillow I made myself and bought the insert at Jo-Ann's for $5 with a coupon. So as you can see I am a very thrifty person. I love to find good deals and love going to rummage sales and kids consignment sales. Actually, you could probably save we live by them. Practically everything we have for Austin and now Paige was purchased at the Wee-Sale, the Mother's of Multiples sale, or Return to Oz (a local consignment store). I hope you enjoy these pictures as I sure enjoyed putting the room together. I can't believe that Paige will be living in this wonderful nursery in a few days!
