Project Life wks 1-3

I LOVE THIS PROJECT. I love it, I love it, I love it.

Did I tell you that I love this project??? Because I do. I really do.

Granted it's only been 4 weeks, almost 5. But I am so happy that I decided to embark on this project. I love that it captures the daily bits and pieces of our lives. Not just the super important events, or the Ahhhhmazing pictures. But the nitty gritty. The good, the bad, and the mundane.

Here is a look at my album and my cover page:

My album is by American Crafts. I bought it at Michaels for $12 during a 40% off sale. I have used these for the past two years, and love them. It is a 3 ring binder style, which is super easy to use. My neighbor just order a kraft album with a black fabric binding. I kinda love hers more. Maybe next year. The "c" is a super old Heidi Swap glitter chipboard alpha.

My cover page. I used the 6x6 divided Becky Higgins page protector, part of the Project Life collection. I stayed super simple. I just wanted it done. And it was...on December 31st. On the top, it reads, "OUR LIFE this is what I want to remember most". The "our" was done with a alpha roller stamp, the "life" are Thickers silver glitter alpha stickers, and the sentiment is from an Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday stamp. For the bottom right square, I used our 2012 Christmas card. I had it, it was easy, and it was pretty. I cut off the writing part and added the glitter 4.

Here is my first Project Life - WEEK 1

I ordered 3 Instagrams in 6x6 to fit the back of my cover page. I also used a 8x10 insert to fit the Valentine Paige made.

All the cards and pieces are from the Studio Calico Project Life monthly kit. Stamps used: office supply date roller stamp and Close to my Heart stamps.

I bought a Tiny Attacher (super tiny stapler but with a wider opening) and I might be obsessed with it. I used it to attach everything. Where has this tool been all my life? This side uses the Design A page protector, 4 4x6 and 4 3x4 openings. This will be my standard throughout the album, but I do plan to use other formats to mix things up a bit here and there.

A close up of an outline of Paige's hand. Such a simple part of childhood that I can now include in my books. I love that I can add artwork, and I only need a small piece to make it meaningful and memorable.

Austin writing his Christmas thank you cards. I took a picture of this one he wrote to his best friend, Ashlyn, and attached it to the full size photo.

WEEK 2 & 3

I didn't have many photos for these two weeks, so I decided to just do a single side of the spread for each week.

For weeks 2 & 3 I ordered my Instagrams from PostalPix. I tried the new size, I 2x2 grid of 9 photos. It was only $1.99, making my grand total $4 after shipping. Not bad for two weeks. I just cut them apart. I included a library receipt this week, showing my new read, Bloom by Kelli Hampton. Also is a thank you card from one of Austin's teachers. She wrote such a lovely note about what things Austin loves about school. Nice to hear some positives and what he is doing well in.

Paige and I took a trip to Trader Joes and they gave us these super cute Valentine's stickers.

A picture of Austin looking at our 2012 family album. Love this moment. Receipts from Austin's hair cut, Target, and Safeway.

A grid of highlights from the week. I numbered each photo and then journaled about each one.

Life is Good stamp is Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday. Arrow stamp is Studio Calico PL kit. I wanted to include the movie ticket from Austin's trip to see Monster's Inc 3D with Julianna. I attached the 2x2 photo with two staples, then glued the movie stub onto a small tag and slipped it behind the photo.

After I finished the weeks, I still had a few extra things the kids did and said that I wanted to include. I added a 5x7 insert and wrote them on the speech bubble card my my SC PL kit. It works.

So far I am really happy with how it is turning out. I am sure as I more forward I'll back and wish I did things differently, or maybe embellished the cards more. But for now I am concentrating on getting it done, keeping up with my journaling, and not falling behind. That is this year's goal.
