I have been slowly trying to diminish my craft supplies, slowly but surely. Austin loves tape so I thought he would enjoy some of my washi tapes. We made some simple binoculars and both kids decorated theirs with some colorful tape. Even though pirates don't actually use binoculars, both kids were running around the house hunting for treasure and yelling, "ARRR!!" and "AHOY MATEY!!". I will say that for a craft that took us about 10 minutes, they playing with them ALL DAY. Totally worth me sharing my precious supplies :)

If you want to make some too, you will need:
2 toilet papers for each child
string, yarn, or ribbon
hole punch
washi tape

1. Line up the toilet paper rolls side by side and staple them together with two staples on each end.

2. Punch a hole about a 1/2 inch down on each side of the binoculars.

3. Tie the string through the hole and secure with a double knot.

4. Let the kids decorate with washi tape, stickers, or markers.

5. Go on a treasure hunt or take a walk outside and have the kids search for birds.
