we had a fairy party

Isn't everything a bit better when you add glitter? I decided to be daring and let the kids pour glitter into a fresh batch of Earth Friendly Play Dough and it was quite magical.

Fairy Dough

mix together in a small pot:

1 cup flour

1/2 cup salt

1 cup water

1 T vegetable oil

1 1/2 t. cream of tartar

Heat over medium heat until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cool enough to handle, lay the dough on a table and make a well in the center. Pour the glitter into the well. Fold over the dough and knead to blend together. Repeat process until the glitter is evenly distributed. Keep the dough in a sealed bag or container. Play dough will last a good few months or longer if stored properly.

We make a fancy fairy cake, with wooden candles of course.

We made cake pops, we made fairy cookies, and we made alphabet soup.

Play dough is a favorite around here and the pink glitter was just the thing we needed to make it new and exciting again.
