Project Life weeks 28-33

Major Project Life update today. I didn't realize I was so behind…yikes! My 2013 PL year is divided into two albums. This is my second album. This time I used a light aqua cloth D ring album from Michaels. It is the store brand. I found it on clearance for $2.99. I picked up four. My other album for first half of the year was an American Crafts brown album. They are identical in shape and material, just different in color. I might transfer my first half on the year into a matching aqua album, but I haven't decided yet. Most likely I will so that each year will be it's own color. So here is my cover. Super simple.

Since the first page would be a single layout, I started it off with this series of pictures I had of Paige with her doll. I told the story of the doll as well, which I shared on my blog here.

All cards shown are from various Studio Calico Project Life monthly kits.

WEEK 28

Blueberry picking at a local farm, one of my favorite summer traditions. The farm had pigs too. The kids loved seeing them run around.

Discovered a new park which had all these awesome climbing structures. Austin was in heaven. I love summer adventures. Seeing these layouts now is getting me very excited for what this summer will bring!

WEEK 29

Jay's parents were here for a visit so we headed to the beach in Dartmouth. It was a gorgeous day. Not hot at all. The kids were loving the waves. Austin is so brave this year. We also celebrated Jay's birthday. Austin wanted an ocean theme party, so we made daddy a fishy cake.

I'm still getting used to all the rocky beaches up north. It's so awesome to be able to capture these special moments the kids are sharing with Grammy. They are so loved and so blessed.

WEEK 30

We went on a day trip to Connecticut to a sunflower farm. It was spectacular! The fields of flowers were breathtaking. They had a whole heard of baby cows deep in the woods that we rode a tractor to. The kids thought that was super funny…all the cows running towards us.

WEEK 31

The kids are loving the indoor pool at the Y. It has sprinklers they can swim under and buckets of water that splash down. My mom was here this week so Jay and I go to have a date night! We went into Boston and met up with some of my sorority sisters who live in the area. So nice to catch up with everyone. Why is it that we are SO excited to get a break from the kids, but as soon as we go out we talk about the kids? Crazy moms we all are now.

We then took off for Maryland. First up was a stay at Grandma's. The highlight of the trip for Austin was going to the water park. It's his "favorite summer memory". Paige ate a crab for the first time. My mom kept telling me how much she looked like me when I was that age.

A ride on a tractor and a trip to the local zoo…simple and good.

WEEK 32

We went to Ocean City for a sleepover with my BF Jen and her kids kids. Being with her always makes my heart skip a beat when I see our kids together. The fact that we have been friends for over 20 years and now are kids are growing up in each other's lives makes me so happy. What a priceless gift. Then we invaded my grandparents on the Eastern Shore for a few days. The kids played A LOT in my old treehouse and we took many walks, and did lots of puzzles.

My Uncle Brad took the kids on a boat ride. I love the Chesapeake Bay. I miss it so. Was so nice to just be out there…the peace and quiet. I feel home there. Next up was a visit with my friend Allison. We met at Camp Todd, a girl scout camp in Maryland, when we were in second grade. We've been friends ever since. The next stop on our whirlwind trip of the big MD was my bestie Ashley's house. Her daughter Hannah and Austin are two peas in a pod. When I think of summer in Annapolis, I think of Ashley. Back in the day when we only had A & H, we would spend all morning at the pool then let the kids both nap at her house while we lounged on her couch and talked for hours. I miss that. And I miss her.

WEEK 33

Last stop during our trip was Annapolis! We stayed with my bestie Elle there. Austin was in heaven being with his dear Ashy again. Poor guy misses her so much. I got all my girlfriends together for a night out…what a treat.

I'm loving writing directly on my photos. I use the Project Life pens from American crafts. I also really like the look of a thin black outline around my small Instagram prints. Gives it a little definition.

I use tags often in my layouts. I get them from Staples. The letter stickers here, and most of my larger ones I use are Thickers by American Crafts.

Last stop on the trip was with my friend and old neighbor Amy. Lucky guy Austin is, surrounded by all of these pretty girls! A day at the park for these two. The next morning I left bright and early to pick up Jay from a friends house (he had flown in the night before to drive home with us) and we set out for the long trip back to MA.

We stopped in Mystic, CT on the way back. What a beautiful town. We ate at the famous Mystic Pizza, where the movie with Julia Roberts was filled.

That's it for now. I'm sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting on my flight to Kansas. I'm going to Whatever Craft Weekend and I. AM. SO. STINKING. EXCITED. If you've never heard of Meg Duerksen and her famous Craft Weekend, you can read about it HERE. I can't wait to share my adventure with you right here when I get back and recover from all the excitement.

Now…off to Chic Fil A because you know they don't have that in MA. Oh Maryland, how I miss you.

xoxo
