homemade granola bars

I've tried a few recipes for granola bars. All of them yummy, but each ends up being more like regular granola and not really in the form of bars. This one does it. They actually look like real granola bars.

And they are super delicious. Win win.

you will need:

2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oat bran
3/4 t. cinnamon
1/4 cup flaxmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cups mini choc. chips OR raisins
3/4 t. salt
1/2 cup natural honey
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup canola oil
2 t. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350. GENEROUSLY grease 13x9 baking pan. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. You may need to use your hands to get everything mixed nicely. Press the mixture into the pan evenly.

Bake for 20-25 until the edges are a little brown. Cool for 5 minutes then cut into bars while it's still a bit warm. DO NOT let it cool completely or you will feel like a cave women trying to cut them.

Store in a glass container and ENJOY!
