Project Life 2014 // weeks 1-14

Project Life 2014 // weeks 1-14

This post is long overdue. I'm pretty good at staying relatively caught up with my PL albums, but I am horrible at taking the time to photograph my pages and posting them here. I'm working on it…along with so many other things.

My album for this year is a light aqua color, cloth D-ring album, made by Michael's Stores. I got 4 of them on sale for $3.99 when they were being discontinued. Total score. For the front, I just slid in a scrap of 4x4 paper and adhered a metallic silver C to the middle, along with the date stamp. You can see I left space beside the beginning date for the end date of this album. Since each year gets split between two albums, I like to mark the dates that each one contains.

This is a side view of the pages so far. It's about half way full.

My title page this year was super simple and I love how it turned out. I am using a combination of the Project Life Midnight Core Kit and the Studio Calico Project Life monthly kits. I used our holiday family photos for the front page. I think I will do this every year. I used gold Thickers for the "4" and the 2014. I machine stitched on top to secure the numbers.

week 1 Jan. 1-5

weeks 2 & 3 Jan. 6-19

When I don't have a lot of pictures for the week, I don't stress. I just make a single page layout. And add in other stuff, like art work, quotes from the kids, and filler cards. Other weeks I end up have inserts galore, so it evens out.

Some old wallpaper pulled from the entryway.

One of my favorite things about Project Life is adding in the kids art work.

weeks 4 & 5 Jan 20- Feb. 2

The weekly date cards are by Marcy Penner of Hello Forever, sold by Studio Calico. I'm glad I splurged on these this year. It is super easy to just stamp the date and slide them in. I also like how one side is black and white, while the other side is color.

week 6 Feb. 3-9

This week began our experiment with Gluten Free foods, so you will see some food pics in the coming weeks.

week 7 Feb. 10-16

Valentines week always brings fun. I inserted one of Austin's Valentines he made for his classmates.

I loved the idea of this piechart PL card in my Studio Calico kit. I decided to write what makes up our days.

week 8 Feb. 17-23

Snow, snow, and more snow. We take walks in the snow. We go to the playground in the snow.

Austin is obsessed with drawing tree houses right now. He is all about the houses. Block houses, drawn houses, lego houses, houses all the time.

week 9 Feb. 24- March 2

This might have been the best week ever because I got to travel to Kansas for Whatever Craft Weekend. Seriously... a dream. Kim and I had so much fun shopping and sewing and eating.

Inserts this week. I love these 4x4 page protectors from We R Memory Keepers. Perfect for my full sized Instagrams.

Week 10 March 3-9

week 11 10-16

For the kids St. Patty's Day art, I used one 5x7 insert for the prints and for the clover on cardboard, I just punched holes to fit on the rings.

week 12 March 17-23

week 13 March 24-30

I am still really enjoying writing right on my photos. I use the Project Life Pens.

week 14 March 31- April 6

While the kids were painting this week, I decided to paint along. I cut a few of the sayings I painted and slipped them in the 3x4 spots. For the larger art by Paige, I am fine with cutting it up. I decided when I started doing PL that I need to be ok with cutting stuff up, and I am. I would rather have it IN HERE than sitting in a box. PL is so worth it in every way for me. I truly love this way of memory keeping.

Heart is attached with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

week 16 April 14-20

That's it for now :)
