When we bought our new house, I had big dreams for the studio space. The space was originally built as a carriage house. It has three floors, and is a little larger than a two car garage. I've prettied it up as much as possible for a first run. We plan to lay down some flooring (wipeable), enlarge the windows, turn the garage doors into sliding barn doors, re-open the side door and make that the main entrance, and install overhead lighting. I'm begging my husband to let me paint the walls white. It feels very dark to me and I need more brightness. He wants to maintain the integrity of the barn, so I'm trying to think of alternatives. For now, hanging lights and banners everywhere will have to do.

I've been teaching art classes for two years now and it is so much fun! I dream of one day owning a storefront downtown. But for now, I love this little space.
